Ontario, British Columbia and Manitoba issue invitations in latest Provincial Nominee Program draws

British Columbia and Ontario have issued invitations to apply in the most recent round of PNP draws.

Three provinces have issued invitations to candidates this week.

Ontario, British Columbia and Manitoba have issued invitations to apply to candidates through recent rounds of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws.

Most Canadian provinces and territories (except Quebec and Nunavut) have their own PNP. Through these programs, interested candidates may be invited to apply for a provincial nomination. Obtaining a provincial nomination facilitates permanent residency.

Quebec's immigration program is administered by the province and differs from Canada's. Quebec is the only province that controls all economic class immigration.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has 105,000 permanent residents each year. It started in 1998 and the number of PNP admissions has grown steadily every year since then. Both the federal and provincial governments see this as an effective tool for promoting economic development outside urban centres.

Provincial immigration results January 22-January 27

Ontario

On January 24, Ontario issued a total of 620 invitations to candidates in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) employer job offer: international student category. It's a general draw, which means there are no targeted careers. Candidates need a minimum score of 82 to receive an invitation.

This process is for international students with job offers in technical occupations. The job offer must be in a skilled occupation in TEER (Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibility) category 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
